For the entire month of April, my boyfriend Rob and I stayed with his family in Park City, UT. We were more than thrilled to make the transition from our 650-square foot apartment in Portland, OR to Park City, which is known for its mountains, 7,000 feet altitude, ski resorts, and outdoor activities.
During our last week in Utah, we decided to take a 45-minute road trip to get out of the house and enjoy the warm weather. We drove south to the city of Sundance to go hiking and explore the area. Due the high elevation, the trails were still partially covered by unmelted snow, but we were able to do a short hike between the mountains that led to a small waterfall.
Taking this day trip to Sundance reminded me that even during quarantine, we are lucky to be able to go outside and enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, running, or even just going for a walk. It is important to stay healthy and safe during this pandemic, but equally important to keep your mind and body healthy by getting fresh air and exercise.
Regardless of your current environment, take the time to take care of yourself and appreciate your surroundings by taking 20 minutes or a full day to participate in your favorite activity.
For Rob and I, that meant going hiking. What is yours?
